Indoor Sprint Triathlon
Come be part of the first KSU Indoor Sprint Triathlon on February 19, 2022! Whether you are a seasoned triathlete ready to kick start your racing season, an active fitness-goer looking for a new adventure or a supporter of a loved one, this is the family-friendly event for you. Participants will compete in heated timed events: 300-yard swim, 5-mile bike ride, and one-mile run. All participants will receive a “swag bag” and awards will go to the top winners fastest overall times for men and women.
Registration is limited to 50 participants.

Turkey Trot 5K
On your mark, get set, GO! It’s time for the KSU annual tradition of the Turkey Trot 5K hosted by the Department of Sports and Recreation. Get moving by participating in this 3.1 mile race before Thanksgiving Day! Enjoy the looped course held on the paved walking trail with 2 bridge features and beautiful views of a 9 acre lake. Gather your friends and colleagues to run (or walk)!
All registration will take place online through the Sports and Recreation Member Portal.
KSU Recreation Center Members are able to participate with no additional fee.
KSU Non-Members and Guests - $10
The Turkey Trot 5K is limited to KSU students, faculty, staff, alumni and their guests.
Registration will close on October 31, 2021. There will be NO race day registration.

The Turkey Trot 5K will be held at The Perch!

Participants can park in The Perch parking lot and the Field 3 parking lot (behind Fifth Third Bank Stadium and across from U Pointe - limited spots available). Participants may also chose to park at the Cobb County Transit lot (across from the Owls Nest) and walk to The Perch.
Please note there is no baggage check available.
Participants will start on the fields at The Perch and run counter clock-wise around the field edge to the paved "Walking Trail" loop. They will run 3 laps around this loop clock-wise. To finish, participants will enter back onto the fields running the outer edge clock-wise finishing between the 2nd and 3rd field.
Please note: Due to COVID-19 precautions, there will be no water stations on the course.
Accepting CARE Services Donations
Sports and Recreation is partnering with CARE Services to raise awareness about homelessness and food insecurity. Please consider bringing non-perishable donations to the race to donate to the Campus Food Pantry.
Those who participate will receive a raffle ticket for each item (up to 10 items!) to be entered to win various prizes from our sponsors and campus partners! In the spirit of giving, raffle prize winners will be limited to two wins.

Participants are encouraged to pick up their t-shirt as soon as they finish the race. T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed.
Those that pre-register and do not attend the race will not receive a refund or t-shirt. Must participate to receive the t-shirt
Awards will be given to the overall male and female runners.
Top 1st-3rd place finishers in age group categories will receive medals.
Not ready to race in person? No problem! Join the virtual option - complete the 3.1 miles on your own time, at your own pace and in any location you choose! Participants will need to submit their results from an activity tracker or a photo proof of their run/walk! Send in your submissions to email@example.com.
The virtual race will need to be completed between November 12-19.

Rock the Rec
The Rock the Rec Events will be a day full of Sports and Recreation! Various events will be held throughout the day highlighting program areas within the department (OwlFit, Outdoor Adventures, Intramural Sports, Club Sports and Aquatics). Ride bicycles, sample group fitness classes, play intramural sports in the pool and meet with Club Sport leaders! An information table will also be available throughout the day for students to connect with Recreation staff, receive answers to questions, and to learn about healthy habits to get moving on campus! You can also enjoy refreshments and giveaways throughout the day.

We will meet at Outdoor Adventures where bikes and helmets will be provided for those who make a reservation in advance.
