Turkey Trot 2018 5K & 1 Mile

The 44th Annual Turkey Trot has been cancelled due to weather.  

Sports and Recreation will now be hosting the Turkey Trot virtually! Participants can run or walk their distance anytime between November 9-16. 

To participate in the virtual race you can follow one of these options:

* Use our Strava account to track your miles

* Log your miles using your smart watch or activity tracker

* Take a photo of your results on a treadmill 

* Post a photo on social media and tag us in it: @KSUSportsRec (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)

 When you complete your race (5K or 1 mile), bring proof of your run/walk to the Sports and Recreation Administrative Suite Monday-Friday 8am-5pm and we will provide you with your t-shirt.  The deadline to turn in your run/walk results is 5pm Friday, November 16.

 We are still collecting donations for the CARE Center and will continue with our raffle drawing for prizes. When you pick up your shirt, you can drop off your donations and we will enter you into the drawing. We will contact you if your number is pulled and will provide you with your prize.

  • Start and Finish will be held at the Sports and Entertainment Park. (390 Big Shanty Road, Kennesaw, GA 30144)
  • Participants can park in The Perch parking lot and the Field 3 parking lot (behind Fifth Third Bank Stadium and across from U Pointe Kennesaw student housing - limited spots available.) You may choose to park at the Cobb County Transit lot and walk to The Perch

    Please note there is no baggage check. 

  • Road Race competition begins PROMPTLY at 3:00PM.

    The Start Line will close at 3:10pm. Late participants will not be allowed to start after the race begins.

    1 Mile Event will begin shortly after the 5K participants have departed the start line.

  • Registration will open September 24, 2018. 

    All early registrations will take place online at mysportsrec.kennesaw.edu until Tuesday, November 6.

    Day of registration will be from 1:30-2:30pm at the KSU Sports and Entertainment Park.

    Guests must register with a KSU affiliate. 

  • Early option: November 8, 8:00AM-5:00PM in Dept. of Sports and Recreation Admin Suite 1101 inside the Student Recreation and Activities Center

    Day of Race: November 9, 1:30PM-2:30PM at the Sports and Entertainment Park

  • Awards will be given to the overall male and female runners. 

    Top 1st-3rd finishers in age group categories will receive medals. 

  • Participants are encouraged to pick up their t-shirt as soon as they have finished the race.  If you pre-register but do not attend the race a t-shirt is not provided.

    Only available while supplies last.

  • We are collecting items for the KSU CARE Center. CARE Services operates the campus pantry to support any KSU student in need of nutritional assistance. Each donated item equals one raffle ticket. Participants are eligible to receive up to 10 raffle tickets. Please participate!

    Soup
    Rice
    Dry Beans
    Mashed Potatoes
    Canned Fruit
    Canned Meat
    Mac & Cheese
    Beverages (shelf Milk, Water, Gatorade, juice etc)
    Full Sized Bed Pillows
    Travel/Small Size Laundry Detergent

    Bring donated items to the raffle table at the Sports and Entertainment Park upon your arrival for race day. Items will not be accepted at the early pick up option. 


We welcome participation from NCAA track and field athletes however, they will not be eligible for awards.
